GOD,

BLAME GAME

Tishe is a beautiful Nigerian lady, she had a good job,a nicely furnished house and two latest cars. She had everything .....almost everything going on for her. You could call her the envy of ladies, but she isn't feeling lucky today. Recently, Gbola her fiance, broke off their engagement after discovering about her sordid past.As a matter of fact, this is the third  time she is having her engagement annulled.

Depressed and dejected, she decided to commit suicide. She headed towards the drugstore to buy some pills. She planned to take an overdose of this when she gets home. Back at home, she placed the medicine bottle on a shelf and went to the kitchen to get a cup of water. She brought the water to the living room and she put it on the table below the shelf. Afterwards, she sat on  a recliner and thought about how she had lived her life, she contemplated leaving a suicide note but then she decided against it. She took a long last look at her living room, "I would really miss this house" ,she thought to herself.  She got up and went to the shelf where she kept the pills. As she reached up to collect the medicine bottle, she mistakenly knocked of the cup of water. Shit! she said.

She decided to get another cup of water when she heard a knock on her door

Tishe:    Who the hell is it? ( she yells)

(Knocking continues, so she goes to the door. The man at the door push past her and enters the house.)

Tishe:     Who are you? Have you no manners? Is how you barge into people's house?

Man:      I am so sorry to behave like that but I needed to talk to you urgently.

Tishe:    (smirks) OK..but who are you?

Man:     I am Jehovah and I have come to help you.

Tishe:    Did you say help! (laughs sarcastically) Mr,do I look like I am needy (pauses). Wait a minute! did   you just call yourself Jehovah, you must be the one the Christians call God.

Man:      Yes I am

Tishe:     Hmmm,  (rolls her eyes) I see,so you came by to tell me that I would be used as firewood in hell   because I plan to kill myself. Or isn't that what you do,throw people into hell?

Man:       I came here because I care about you.

Tishe:      Hahaha! Care! this is hilarious .You don't care a bit, infact nobody cares.

Man:        But I do and I love you.

Tishe:      Look here dude, I am not doing guys right now,I lost interest a longtime.I just wanna dieeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Man:         I am not talking about sleeping with you. I have something better in mind for you. I really do love you Tishe.

Tishe:       Enough! I heard enough of that crap,I can see you are very crazy! Love fire!

(Jehovah starts to say something but she cuts him of) If you really love me like claim, why did you let my mother die? (she increases her enraged tone) .You weren't content with my mother's death so you also allowed my father to die too. Then I had to go and live with that miserable good for nothing uncle ,who abused me sexually over and over again. His stupid wife kicked me out when she found out.

Tell me Jehovah or whatever you call yourself, were you blind when all these were happening? eh! Answer me!

Man:         I am so sorry you had to go through all that, I really am. Please let me help you.

Tishe:       Get out! (she screams) I say get outttt!!!. (she rushes at him and pounds him with her fists)

To be continued.....................

GOD,

BACK TO CORINTH 2

12:52 pm Unknown 8 Comments

I am so excited about this new week because, I have great expectations that God will shower me with innumerable blessings and I pray he does the same for you.

Still studying the book of Corinthians and I will be sharing the truths which I am learning from it.

1 Corinthians  4 vs 5 says  "Therefore judge nothing before the appointed  time;wait until the Lord comes. He will both bring to light what is  hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of the heart. At that time, each will receive their praise from God". In this text Paul asks us not to judge. But, 1 Corinthians 5 vs 12 says " What  business is it of  mine  to  judge those  outside the church? Are you not judge those inside?". Here,he (Paul) is implying that he had  no business judging those outside the Christian fold but  he could pass judgments on those within. Comparing these two verses  made  me think, is Paul not contradicting himself?

After so much studying and asking for heavenly wisdom , I discovered that in the fifth chapter, he was talking about discipline in the church while in the fourth chapter, he was talking about passing judgments because of prejudices and also judging the actions of others.

Discipline is highly necessary in the church, hence the need for rules.  A place where there are no laid down rules and boundaries, anything is acceptable and people are bound to misbehave. Discipline in the church should be seen as checks and balances.

We all have different backgrounds, temperaments and school of thoughts. All these influence our outlook on life even when we become a Christian. As a result of this,we seem have conflicting views on how things should be done or not. This can lead to prejudice or judging one another. But like Paul said, only God sees the intentions of the heart. We might not really understand other people's actions but so long  its not conflicting the basic standards of Christianity,we should let them be. I would like to add that even when  a believer is misbehaving and going contrary to the will of God,we should pray for them and not gossip about them.

INSPIRATION,

FRIDAY BLESSINGS

10:44 am Unknown 8 Comments

I woke up around 5am today  and before I knew it,I had launched my own pity party. I recalled all my recent mistakes, failed expectations ,unmet deadlines and the list goes on .  As an unrepentant perfectionist,I expect things to turn out perfectly. You guessed right, most times I don’t get perfect outcomes, and the reasons for these is sometimes my fault,at other times ,they  are due to circumstance beyond my control. But I still beat myself over it because I believe in perfection!!!

While in my moody state,I began to prepare for work. I had done all necessary things, but there was a problem, I didn't know what to wear to work. As I rummaged my closet, I found this long white gown which I owned ( it wasn't my ideal  Friday work dress ,but I decided to wear it ) and that was the miracle it took to get me out of my foul mood. Then the word Friday blessings came to  mind.

Me enjoying Friday Blessings

Life can be hard and unfair but in the midst of all, there is a lot to be thankful for. Below are a few of the things i am thankful for:

Yes,  I have made mistakes but I am thankful that I am alive, because this gives me a chance to learn from my mistakes and  set things right.

I have not been a good time manager lately but being alive gives me opportunity to amend that.

I have handled relationships sourly, but today, I get the chance to start handling them well.

I feel like I have not been giving my very best to my ministry. I am thankful, because I have come to realize it and  I am making plans to give it my all.

This is a big one but I think its worth mentioning. I have not been spending much time with God lately. This happened because, I let a lot of activities cloud my time and I forgot that my topmost priority is my relationship with God. I am grateful  because my eyes were opened to this and  I also  get another day to make things right with God.

Rocking my wannabe wedding dress.

We all have failures, regrets and shortcomings but we can be thankful for life because its another chance to make things work.

What are you grateful for?

DECISIONS,

LOSING CONTROL!!!

3:30 pm Unknown 10 Comments

Speed intrigues and frightens me at the same time. As I  watched a car speed past us , the word "Control" came to my mind. Handling the steering of a vehicle puts you in a position of authority over that vehicle . One can do as he/she wishes to the vehicle because they possess the power to control it. Probably, one of the reasons why people drive recklessly is because they feel in control.

Our lives are  just like  vehicles. Just  the way fate of  a vehicle depends on the driver, the outcome of our lives depends on whom we allow to drive. A reckless driver would lead the vehicle to its doom. An unskilled driver is likely to crash the car but a skilled and wise driver, will steer the vehicle well and take it to the purposed destination.

My question is ,who drives you? I would like to admit that I like to have control over things, so let's just say, I would like to be the driver of my own life. Is that a good choice? of course its not!  The reason is because,  human knowledge and abilities are limited ,which means these cannot drive a life perfectly. The skilled and perfect driver is God,he has been around since time immemorial , so he knows which road is good and which is bad. He also has so much expertise that he knows when to speed up or slow down,he also knows when to make a right-turn,left-turn or u-turn. He knows the appropriate gear to use for a particular journey and situation. I don't think I should be telling you that you don't dare hand over the steering of your life to the devil. Only one thing can come out of this and it is spelt  D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R!!!

Having thought of these things, I decided I wanted the best driver to drive me even if it means losing control. But God wont force himself on us, he has given us the grace to choose. Therefore, if you want him as your driver, you need to invite him.You need to accept him as your savior and you need to rely on him daily for guidance in ALL THINGS.

FASHION,

DO YOU REALLY NEED SUNGLASSES 2?

4:01 pm Unknown 0 Comments

Hiiiii! So good be back after a short while. Recently, I wrote on sunglasses and I discussed  its health benefits. If you missed it,kindly check for it on this blog.  I also promised the do the second part ,which will focus on its fashion side and here it is.Yaay!!

I would discussing the various types of sunglasses and their distinctive features. I would also be making recommendations for you based on the shape of your face!. Hmmm ,I sound like a sunglass doctor, don't I? Lol.

                                                       TYPES OF SUNGLASSES

Cat-eyed Glasses: These sunglasses have flared outer edges and  thick horned-rims.The arms join their lenses at the top corners. This sunglass is common with  the women folk, as it gives them an edgy ,unique and elegant look.

Recommendations: This sunglass would suit  persons with  oval face,heart-shaped face or square face.

Aviator Sunglasses: These are otherwise known as  "pilot's glasses". lt was  originally designed   for the protection of pilot's  eyes while flying. These glasses are often characterized  by thin metal frames with reflective lenses. Aviator sunglasses is common among the male but it has been remodeled to also to suit females. They are so  versatile, as it looks good on almost anything including corporate wears.

Recommendations: If you have a heart, oval, round or square face, you should try this out.

Shield  Sunglasses :  These sunglasses are simple yet fashionable. It has a wide single lens which covers both eyes. The lens is demarcated below to give  allowance to the nose area. They are suitable for beach and playing sports. It also has a wrap-around effect because of its wide arms, as this gives maximum protection to the eyes and face.

Recommendations : This would best suit a round  face.

Wayfarers :This is designed mostly from plastic and it comes in various colors. One of its unique feature is, its sturdy arms and round bottom. The wayfarers sunglass is causal and would match casual outfits.

Recommendations: This one is for the round and oval faces.

Round Sunglasses: As the name implies, they are round in shape ,they can be small-sized, medium or over-sized. Their designs vary from full framed to semi-rimless and rimless..

Recommendations: All shapes of faces can wear this except the round face! So ironical!

Square Sunglasses: The squarish sunglasses are so trendy and unique. Just like the round sunglasses, they come in various designs and sizes.

Recommendations: It well suited  on a round face. I think this glass is borrowing a tip from the round sunglass.  This definitely proves that opposites attract.  If not ,why should a round glass suit a square face and a square glass match a round face!   ( Oops! so sorry , that wasn,t part of the recommendation .It was is just an after-thought. Lol.)

YOUR TURN

Now we have come to the end of the sunglasses session, I would love to hear your views about the various designs of sunglasses as well as different shapes of faces. I look forward to reading them.
