INSPIRATION,

JESUS, A MARKET MOVER?

5:11 pm Unknown 11 Comments

Hallo, I am so sorry I went AWOL for a long time. I have really had so much on my hands lately. Hope  you all had a fantastic Xmas. Sorry my xmas greetings is coming late. I like to acknowledge my blogger sisters,  Frances on http://imperfectlyperfect92.wordpress.com/ and Uchenna on http://www.ezechimereuchenna.blogspot.com./. These ladies made me blush by specially sending me xmas wishes. I am so honored .This is also wishing my co-bloggers and readers  a wonderful xmas and a prosperous new year in advance.

Part of what kept me busy was the preparations for children church xmas party. Below is a picture of the children ballet group.

Aren,t we cute??? winks

Now back to my topic. Jesus, a market mover. Its sounds weird abi? just ride with me and you all understand what I mean.

My younger sister started the word "market mover". She uses it to describe anything that sells well. We often joke around saying that musicians sing mostly love songs because love songs sell like wildfire. hence ,love songs are market movers. Hope you get the point now. So,how come Jesus is on sale?

The Word for today,  24th December 2013 issues wrote  " Thirty percent of all retail sales in department stores take place over the Christmas-time holidays. Fifty percent of all parties are held during Christmas and New Year. One out of every ten litres of alcohol is sold then too. Clearly, Jesus is good for business"
Do you know now understand why I call Jesus a market mover.

The word for today goes further to stress that we have forgotten the true essence of Xmas -- which is the the birth of a savior who came to save sinners. Instead we have commercialized Xmas. While Xmas is a time to celebrate the good news that God has provided a way out  of damnation for humans,it is also a time of deep reflection on how we have lived our lives. Are we doing God proud for the sacrifice he made for us' more than 2000 years  ago?are we sharing this good news with others who have not heard it?  are seizing this opportunity to share our possessions with the less privileged or is xmas just a fun fare for us.

As we celebrate this season, be reminded that salvation of souls is the reason why Christ came, let us also teach this truth to our children as most children do not know the true essence of Christmas ,all they know is the merriment part of Xmas.

Since I drew my inspiration for the word of today, I also like to close with the concluding paragraph of the aforementioned issue and it states "Instead of ending this Christmas exhausted, disappointed, and in debt, invite Jesus into your life. You may be looking back with regret on some bad decisions you've made this year, but making Jesus your Lord and Savior this Christmas is the best decision you'll ever make".

Look forward to a wonderful 2014

GOD,

BLAME GAME 2

4:18 pm Unknown 19 Comments

Hi, the part 2 of Blame Game is finally here. If you missed the part 1,click the link below for it.

(Jehovah disengages  Tishe from him and sets her  on a chair. He goes to the kitchen to get her a glass of water)

Man:         Here,drink this.

Tishe :        (still sobbing) My life is in shambles!!!

Man :         Drink the water ( he insists), it will help you relax.

(Tishe drinks the water in-between sobs. She stops sobbing after a while and looks at him.)

Tishe :       (sighs) You are so stubborn, you still wouldn't leave.

Man :          Tishe dear, I do understand that you have gone through some terrible things but you also have a hand in your misfortunes.

Tishe:          What do you mean?(flares up violently),  did I kill my parents or did I ask to be raped. Didn't you know I was thrown out by my uncle's wife?

Man:           All those were not your doing but why did you take to prostitution?

Tishe:          What other choice have I got? Tell me? After I was kicked out,I slept on the streets for two days, cold and hungry.

Man:          I know but I protected you from being molested or mugged. Then I laid it on the heart of an old widow who was passing by to give you some money for food. I even prompted her to come to back and offer you shelter which she did.

Tishe:         (Hisses) You mean that poor old woman! For crying out loud, that woman had no money! She lived in a ram-shackled one-room apartment. If I had stayed longer with her,how would I have funded my education? All the connections that I have now,how would I have gotten them?

You said I was prostituting my body,Oh dear! you  made it sound so bad. All I did was play the smart girl, and fyi, I only slept around for six months. After I met Senator Mayowa, I decided I was only going to be sleeping with big boys who are well connected. So stop making it look like I slept with all the men in the world (Smirks).

Man:          Hmmm, "Smart girl", ( Shakes his head) . Tell me Tishe, how has all those profited you?

Tishe :        You are way out of vogue! ( She rises arrogantly from the chair) Take a good look around this mansion,it belongs to me. I have a Lexus jeep and a Honda Fit. In fact ,I plan to add a Ferrari to my fleet. I am the departmental head in my organisation. I vacation in Spain ,Italy, Greece, Hawaii and anywhere I wish.

Have you checked my closet? I have innumerable shoes, clothes, bags, jewelries  and accessories from topmost designers. To crown it ,I have an irresistible beauty which makes a man's head spin, even married men  to have ditched their wives for me.  ( She starts singing  "I got it all,I got it all, I am steaming hot,hot ,hot!).

Man:         Okay, you have got it all. If you are truly satisfied with your life, why do you want to commit suicide.

(Her shoulders slumped immediately, she sits abruptly on the chair and starts sobbing again.)

Tishe:        Nobody wants to marry me once they discover I have been promiscuous. But its not my fault, that I did all those things. In fact its your fault! Why didn't you stop me from doing such. Aren't you God who has the power to control all things?

Man:       Yes I am God and I have the power to control all things but I will never force my will or myself on you or anyone. I leave all humans to make their own choices. You asked why I didn't stop you, I couldn't because you had to make your choice but I did warn you.

Remember, the widow whom you stayed with for a while before you delved into prostitution, she came repeatedly to talk you out of it but you refused. On one occasion, you even asked your guard to drag her out.

Have you forgotten Chidinma, your course mate in school. She kept preaching to you,she even invited you to church on several occasions but you turned her down.

How about Adisa who always counselled you,she even took care of you when you were ill. You shut out her kindness and stole her fiance from her.

I have reached out to you through these people and many more ways, but you have always rejected me. Everyone in life will bear the consequences of their actions. "You cannot blame God for the actions of men".

(Tishe falls to the ground and starts crying uncontrollably)

Tishe:         I am sorry,am so sorry. Please help me...

Man:          All you have to do is accept my son (Jesus) into your life, I loved you so much that I allowed him to die for you.

Tishe:           Oh Jesus! I accept you as my Savior, please help me change ,I am so sorry for all I have done. ( Sobbing continues)

(Jehovah goes to her, gathers her into his arms and rocks her gently)

Man:        Its okay, everything is going to be fine.

EPILOGUE
Tishe looks down at her protruding belly and smiled. Jade her husband of five years will soon be back with their sons Bolu and Kunle. She thought of how Jades dots lovingly on her and the boys."How did I get so lucky",she said to herself.
Even though, she lost her connections when she declared as a Christian, she has never  felt happier.

She now spends her time helping abused and homeless girls. People who knew the old Tishe were amazed at the changes they saw in her. They often asked how she got transformed, she simply answered by saying"It all happened when Jehovah walked into my life".

Author's Note
I hope you all enjoyed Blame Game. Many of us are like Tishe in one way or the other. We blame God and other people for our misfortunes. While we cant help somethings, the truth is, most of our misfortunes are as a result of our past actions. I pray that we learn to take responsibility for our lives and clean up our acts. If you are not a Christian, the first step  is to  accept Christ into your life and he will help you through your life endeavors.

Kindly let me know your what you think about Blame Game and watch out for my next work of fiction..... Cheers!!

GETTING A STRESS BUSTER

6:05 pm Unknown 2 Comments

December is a time of great activity. The mere sound of this month brings a lot of thoughts to one's mind. Asides from the fact that Christians celebrate Christmas at this time,it is also a time when organisations round up and take a break for the year. For many who live away from home, its a time to travel and get together with family members. For some, its a time to go out with friends to enjoyable places, for others its a time when they receive and entertain guests.

In my own case, I have been juggling  work with family obligations as well  as Christmas party preparations for the children church. I am out seven days a week, when I am not balancing books in the office,I am  either drawing out an extra budget for the party  or buying presents and sorting out payments. I also have  to spend time with God and  important people in my life. Don't forget that I also have to blog ( this should probably explain why I have not been blogging frequently as usual). Yesterday,I was so exhausted that I dozed off at my desk (shh! please, don't tell my boss.lol ). I think you now get to picture which I am trying to paint. Being constantly busy and active can leave us stressed out and exhausted, worse still it could lead to illness.

As a result of all this,I began to think of how to manage stress and that's how I came up with these simple tips.

TIP #1
Prioritize: I use this a lot in my financial planning and it works for me so I am confident it will work in this instance. I  make a list of the items I need and since I have limited resources, I decide which is more important and urgent. Having made this decision, I buy the important ones and leave the others till when I can afford them. By doing this, I can avoid the financial crises. So here is how we apply it to stress management, decide what's more important in your life and make it your  topmost priority, bearing in mind that if you don't get anything done, you must get that "important thing"  done.

TIP#2
Have a schedule: I also do this a lot to manage my work load and time. I make  my responsibilities  into a list ,then I arrange them in a order of priority. I schedule the time frame in which each task should be completed.  I place my devotion and prayer time as first to be done in the morning ( within a particular time frame). Then I schedule my work load ( each against a particular time frame).I try to get this stuffs done within the scheduled time frame except something urgent comes up. If I have to make some calls,I write it down so I  don't forget. I leave the least important things at the end of the list. If I can cover it that day, I carry it over to the next day.Don't overcrowd your schedule or to do list so as to make it achievable.

TIP#3
Learn to say no:  I like to help in every way I can but I am learning to say no. You should give your best in all you do, but when  too many demands are being placed on you,you must learn to withdraw politely else you might breakdown. People who genuinely love you will respect and understand your decisions.

TIP#4
Learn to delegate: You do not have to do it alone. Delegating makes the work faster and easier. Motivate people to share the vision which you are striving  to achieve, this way  they can help you with the workload.

TIP#5
Relax: You definitely need your physical body to work. This means you need to get enough rest to keep your system rejuvenated . Asides from getting a good night sleep, you should find time to relax during the day. Tune out every noise and stay calm for at least 30 mins, this will help soothe your body. You can also unwind by reading novels, watching  movies, listening to soft music or doing something outside your regular busy routine, this will really help you to relax.

TIP#6
Eat well: Your body needs nourishment to function well and this can be gotten through food . While I do not encourage under-eating,I also do not encourage over-eating . I advise that you eat healthy foods in moderate portions. While going about our busy schedule, pastries, sweets and candies might seem like a fast way out of hunger. This is not a good idea, too much of this(pastries and sweets) slows down your metabolism and increases body fat which you might not need. Eating fruits and nuts is a better option ( I am not saying you should eat this alone).
Drink water often as this flushes out toxins and keeps you hydrated, this is a healthier option than soda and other soft drinks.

TIP#7
Keep trying: With all these tips you might be tempted to think that I have got it all together. Sincerely, I haven't. There are days when I don't stick to my schedule and there are times I carry over a lot of work till the next day. At times I don't even eat healthy ( chocolates are so tempting! lol) . But you know what? I am not giving up. So,I keep trying and I am getting better. You should do the same.

TIP#8
Ask God for help: Right now, I know someone is thinking how can God help bust stress? Here is how, there are some unnecessary activities that stress us out, godly wisdom can point us to those areas so that we can make amendments. Godly wisdom can also help us to realize some habits that cause us undue stress. God can help us deal with stress in more ways than we can imagine. So take a kneel and ask him for help.

Share with us the ways in which you manage stress.I look forward to reading them.
